and loves many days
Danny Gu | violin

Joseph Haydn
Piano Trio no.39 ‘Gypsy’
Lee Bradshaw
‘Ma Ha’ish variations’, op.24
Antonín Dvorak
‘Piano Trio no.3 in f minor’, op.65
Explore the tumult and drama of Lee Bradshaw’s enthralling Ma Ha’ish Variations, paired with Dvořák’s
stormy ‘Piano Trio No. 3 in Fm’ and Haydn’s daring ‘Gypsy piano trio No. 39’. Commissioned by the German–Israeli ensemble Trio Delyria, the ‘Ma Ha’ish Variations’ are a profound meditation on the Psalmic idea of “the man who desires life”. This powerful work unfolds as a deeply human search for meaning, with its radiant theme only finally emerging after a harrowing journey. A concert celebrating the power of resilience and passion and the vivid Eastern European musical tradition – featuring visiting German- based Australian violinist Danny Gu.
